WordPress provides some default widgets. Some default widgets are Search, recent Posts, Links, Calendar, categories etc. You can add above mentioned widgets into the sidebar, or footer or any “widgetized” area in your Home page as well as into the other “widgetized” sections of your WordPress theme that have been purchased from us. Also, you can install various plugins to provide additional widgets according to your needs.
Go to the Appearance > Widgets section within the WordPress Admin Panel. Please, see the following image.
When you click on “Widgets” under “Appearance”, you will see a new window. Please, see the following image:
To add a widget, drag the widget from the Available Widgets or Inactive Widgets area on the left into the Sidebar area, Footer are or widgetized section on the right according to your needs. When you see a dashed line appear, you can drop the widget into place.
You can also change the order of the widgets by dragging and dropping them around in the sidebar. Please, see the screenshot below for better understanding:
After dragging and dropping the widget into the “widgetized” area, now you will have to configure the widgets (if widget configuration is needed). Now, I am going to narrate you about widget configuration process.
Each widget has configuration options. To make changes to a widget in the sidebar, click on the triangle on the right side. Please, see the screenshot below for better understanding:
This will open up the options for the widget. Each widget will be different. Here is an example of the “Blog Update” widget.

After your configuring the widget, click the “Save” button. Clicking the “Close” link will minimize the configuration options again. Also, you can click on “Delete” link to delete the widget. Now, Adding, Editing and Deleting Widget are done.
By following above mentioned process, you can Add, Edit and Delete Widgets according your needs.
